As an AAPGAI Master fly fishing guide and instructor, Tony has the knowledge & skills to not only teach you the correct technique, but also how & when to use it.
As well as the casting techniques, Tony will also share with you his knowledge of the rivers and lakes he frequently fishes, he'll show you how to read them, and in the right conditions identify the fly life & correct fly imitation that'll go someway towards improving your chances of catching fish.
Although not exhaustive, the following is some of the topics that can be covered in a fly fishing course tailored to suit your experience and aspirations:
- At the waters edge - The Safety
- Tackle & equipment - The Set up
- Performing the Roll Cast correctly
- Deploying the Overhead cast correctly

- Presentations - Curves & mends
- Slack line casts - Drag free drifts
- Distance & accuracy casting
- Watercraft & basic entomology
The above fly fishing casts can be taught at almost any location. A number of the casting techniques however are best suited to certain conditions and specific locations (These will be discussed and covered prior to the tuition)
All my courses are based on a 1-2-1 principle unless you're actually bringing a friend or a partner. You'll have my total & undivided attention for the duration of your course. |
